Question 1

How does MacKey remap MacBook Air function keys without input lag?

Accepted Answer

MacKey runs natively on Apple Silicon utilizing low-level macOS CoreGraphics CGEventTap hooks. Keystrokes are intercepted and dispatched in sub-millisecond real time with zero measurable latency.

Question 2

How is MacKey similar to Logi Options+?

Accepted Answer

Logi Options+ provides a visual interface to remap Logitech mouse and keyboard keys. MacKey brings that exact clean, categorized action picker and visual layout experience directly to the built-in MacBook Air keyboard.

Question 3

Does MacKey require Accessibility permissions?

Accepted Answer

Yes. macOS requires standard Accessibility permission (System Settings > Privacy & Security > Accessibility) so that MacKey can intercept F1-F12 key events and simulate target actions.

Question 4

Is my data private? Does MacKey record what I type?

Accepted Answer

Never. MacKey operates 100% on-device. It only listens to the targeted function keys (F1-F12) and never logs, stores, or transmits your keystrokes. There are zero cloud servers, zero analytics trackers, and zero telemetry.

Question 5

What is the refund policy?

Accepted Answer

MacKey provides an unconditional 14-day money-back guarantee. If MacKey does not suit your workflow, email support@graond.com for an immediate full refund.
